About The Founder
Homesmith is a real estate investment company founded in 2005 by local product Barry Smith to serve homeowners, home buyers and property renters in Ohio and Southern California. A Delaware, Ohio native and Ohio State University graduate, Smith brings a varied background in real estate, marketing and communications to the company. His experience includes 12 years as a licensed real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty, Inc. To fulfill a goal of giving back to the community, Smith’s company also donates a percentage of all sales transactions to local Habitat For Humanity affiliates. In addition to Homesmith, Smith has managed his own strategic public relations and marketing communications firm, BLS Public Relations, since 1997.
His background also includes stints with three public relations agencies, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the athletic communications offices of three NCAA Division I universities. He also has managed/hosted news media at hundreds of special events and has been selected to the press operations staffs of the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, Goodwill Games, John R. Wooden Award and Academy Awards.
